Events in the Dolomites

Summer 2010

Saturday 3 July
MARCO PAOLINI - Preparare un Fuoco

10 pm VAL DI FASSA, DOLOMITI - Rifugio Vajolet
 Special Project
A night in a refuge with the Jack London of To Build a Fire read by Marco Paolini and accompanied by Simone Massi’s pictures projected onto the mountainside. In this famous short story, originally published in 1902 in The Youth’s Companion and of which there are two versions, the American writer deals with one of his favourite themes: the struggle for survival. A man, a dog and the great North.

Sunday 8 August
PAOLO ROSSI
EMANUELE DELL’AQUILA
Special project: the crisp air at dawn - Dawn in the Dolomites
6 am VAL DI FASSA, DOLOMITI - Pra Martin-Ciampedie
Sunrise filled with biting wit and so much more. Paolo Rossi  - with the assistance of guitarist Emanuele Dell’Aquila – will be looking back over the actors own story, filled with tragic and comic monologues, and songs highlighting Italys shortcomings over recent decades. His career has in fact been played out in very different venues and settings: from cabaret to commedia dell’arte, from traditional theatre to TV, right through to the big top. From Shakespeare to Molière to Brecht. Always leaving the unmistakable mark of a strong artistic personality.Info: www.isuonidelledolomiti.it

Giro delle Dolomiti 2010

 3. STAGE   03.08.2010

TIMED STRETCH: POZZA DI FASSA/BIVIO – GARDECCIA
Short ascent (6,5 km), but extremely difficult because of the slope, up to 20%. The road goes through a very charming environment, in the heart of Dolomites; the hardest stretches are concentrated in the first 1500 m and in the last 3 km, whereas the central 2 km are easier. Anyway the ascent is fit for true climbers; the non-climbers can only try to cut the losses.
