Exploring Torri del Vajolet
In this magical place, the vibrant colors of the rocks and sky make for an unforgettable experience, blending nature and legend.
From Gardeccia to Val Duron
The heart-shaped, crystal-clear alpine lake is nestled among the isolated stone fields of Catinaccio, and according to legend, it was formed by a nymph. You can avoid the main road for a section of the hike by crossing the Ruf de Duron stream below Rifugio Micheluzzi, then climbing the opposite slope for about twenty meters and turning left. The trail starts flat, with benches and tables along the way, then it descends steeply through the forest before reconnecting with the Val Duron road at Pozates, where Baita Fraines is located.
To shorten the hike, you can start directly from Campitello (parking area near the Ischia area) and walk the route in reverse to Lago di Antermoia.
From Gardeccia to Val Udai
Then, we take the trail towards Passo Dona and descend to the Piani di Camerloi.
Here begins the steep and narrow Val Udai. We descend along a narrow path beside the small, bubbling Rio Udai. It’s slippery and eroded, so careful footing is needed. As we reach the end of the valley, it opens up a bit. Beneath the impressive rock face of Spina da Lech, there is an old shepherd's hut. A little further on, the Pis waterfall flows down.
From here, we follow a service road back to Pera, passing through Ronch.
