Vigo - Ciampedie - Gardeccia

Summer. From Vigo di Fassa, take the Catinaccio cable way to Ciampedie. From there, follow the forest trail marked with trail number 540. After about 30-40 minutes of walking on an easy path, you'll reach Rifugio Gardeccia. Alternatively, you can start from Pian Pecei, also along trail 540, with a walking time of about 30-40 minutes.

Pera - Ciampedie - Gardeccia

Summer. From Pera di Fassa, take the ski lift to Rifugio Ciampedie, then continue on foot for about 30-40 minutes along the comfortable trail number 540. At the end of the second section of the ski lift (loc. Pian Pecei), follow the “Sentiero delle leggende” and in 30-40 minutes, with an elevation gain of 145 meters, you will reach our Gardeccia Refuge.

Ideal for those who aren’t in a hurry and want to enjoy the view while relaxing on the ski lift.

Pera - Muncion - Gardeccia

Summer / Winter. From Pera di Fassa, walk to Muncion along the old Via Crucis, a gravel road with a moderate incline. Alternatively, you can reach Muncion by car. Continue along the road (ZTL) towards Gardeccia, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Elevation gain: 625 meters

Description
“Fuoco tra le Nuvole” is a modern route on Gran Fermada that blends technical sections with breathtaking exposure.

The ascent alternates between cracks, technical slabs, and vertical walls, with key sections rated at grade V.
The route is partially equipped but requires additional protection gear.

Access
From Rifugio Gardeccia, follow the trail toward the base of Larsech to the starting point of the wall (approximately 1.5 hours).

Descent
Descend via double rope rappels along the route or follow the return trail to Rifugio Gardeccia.

An exciting adventure for those who love alpine challenges in a unique Dolomite setting!

Gardeccia Rock Climbing Area

The rock climbing area at Rifugio Gardeccia offers a unique climbing experience set in the stunning panorama of the Catinaccio Group. With well-equipped routes on solid Dolomitic rock, it’s the ideal place to train or have fun, whether you’re a beginner or an expert. Technical slabs, cracks, and small overhangs alternate along the routes, providing a variety of moves and a rewarding experience.

Its proximity to the refuge makes it easily accessible, perfect for a day of sports and nature.

From Ciampedie to Gardeccia

The bike route starts in Vigo di Fassa and follows the paved road up to Ciampedie (1,998 m). This first section is uphill with a significant gradient, suitable for experienced cyclists or those using an e-bike. From Ciampedie, the only bike-accessible route to Rifugio Gardeccia (1,950 m) is via trail 540 from Pian Pecei. Bike access is prohibited on the rest of the route within the Catinaccio. Following trail 540, the descent is gentle, passing through forests and offering stunning views of the Catinaccio peaks. Recommended bikes: MTB or e-MTB.
